چکیده

Dysembryoplastic Neuroepithelial Tumour (DNET) is a rare brain tumour commonly involving the temporal lobe and presenting with intractable seizures. However, neuroregression as feature of DNET uncommon. We report case 12-year-old boy arising from parietal seizures & neuroregression. The child was subjected to neurosurgical resection lesion following which he made full recovery. A review after surgery showed his epilepsy under control good progress in scholastic, social adaptive motor skills. This third literature producing reversing milestone regression. demonstrates Epilepsy Surgery powerful tool combatting neuro-regression secondary lesional epilepsy.

Dysembryoplastic neuroepithelial tumour (DNET) is a benign tumour characterised by cortical location and presentation with drug resistant partial seizures in children. Recently the potential for malignant transformation has been reported, however progression without malignant transformation remains rare. We report a case of clinical and radiologic progression of a DNET in a girl 10 years after ...

Temporal lobe dysembryoplastic neuroepithelial tumour: significance of discordant interictal spikes.

PURPOSE Dysembryoplastic neuroepithelial tumours (DNET) are an important cause of refractory partial epilepsies. They usually occur within dysplastic cortex and tend to affect the temporal lobes. The EEG of these patients is characterised by slowing and/or epileptiform abnormalities with a multifocal distribution. We studied the EEG features of epilepsy patients with a temporal lobe DNET to ass...

Dysembryoplastic neuroepithelial tumors: MR appearance.

PURPOSE Dysembryoplastic neuroepithelial tumor (DNT) is a newly described, pathologically benign tumor arising within the supratentorial cortex and having a 100% association with partial complex seizures. We reviewed the MR appearance of the brains of six patients with DNT, without and with administration of gadolinium-DTPA, emphasizing the clinical and radiologic features. METHODS The MR ima...
